在5G建设初期运营商大多选择通过非独立NSA方式部署;在NSA网络中终端先接入4G(LTE)网络,通过B1测量添加5G小区;那5G终端是怎么找到4G网络中的锚点小区呢?
一、NSA对网络和终端要求
为保证在NSA网络的EN-DC双连接中NR工作,终端(UE)和网络(NW)均要具备NR能力:即NW应该知道UE是否支撑NR能力,UE应该知道NW是否支撑NR能力。
二、3GPP解决方案
3GPP TSG-RAN WG2在22nd–26th January 2018的温哥华工作会讨论后决定在4G系统消息中增加1位比特用于NR指示符,指示UE一个E-UTRAN小区是否能够支撑与本地可用NR辅小区的双连接。该指示可在TS 36.331中定义为upperLayerIndication。
三、指示符定义
upperLayerIndication用于广播E-UTRAN小区的EN-DC(双连接)能力。向 UE指示“提供给上层的指示”。该指示在RAN2 100 #44 电子邮件讨论期间添加到36.331 CR中首先使用nr-Indication字段。后来鉴于EN-DC以外的其他双连接,最终更改为upperLayerIndication。
在Rel-15中该指示仅用于指示E-UTRAN小区的EN-DC能力,支撑EN-DC双连接的终端也要求在能力上报中指明其支撑的NR频段情况。
四、锚点信息获取
终端(UE)可以通过检查“upperLayerIndication”的特定(LTE SIB2)IE消息来确定,也就是LTE SIB2将upperLayerIndication-r15设置为true时表示网络(NW)支撑ENDC功能;表示有一个NR小区与(锚点)LTE小区共存。IE:upperLayerIndication将在未来版本中可指示一些其他的东西(例如除了存在同位的NR小区),但至少在ENDC环境中此IE指示存在同位的NR小区。
